We are glad to announce that Ricardo Pereira Tassinari (São Paulo State University) will hold a lecture with the title Philosophy as a System Today: A Neo-Hegelian Approach. The lecture will take place on April 12th, 2023, in Sala Seminari (Piazza Capitaniato 3, Padova) and on Zoom.
Below you can find the abstract of the lecture:
The talk aims to provide a set of concepts, which will be referred to as Systematizing Concepts, which allow us to deal systematically with the various kinds of specific knowledge in a unit. Consequently, they allow us to propose a concept of Philosophy as a System today. They emerged from the necessity of understanding the world we live in, including ourselves. They result from studies performed over more than 30 years, including ones related to Hegelian philosophy. Although such studies support them, they will not be mentioned here, because the intention here is to show that the Systematizing Concepts can be autonomously understood by themselves and their relationships; in this sense, they are self-supporting. In the end, it will be shown how such concepts support a speculative interpretation of Hegelian philosophy and their understanding can be seen as belonging to, and organizing, the interpretation of the Hegelian philosophy itself. In this way, the Systematizing Concepts show us a possible way to continue developing Philosophy as a System today, incorporating both the main results of Hegelian philosophy and specific contemporary knowledge.
