CFP: Second Conference on Classical German Philosophy of UFABC: “Thought and Freedom. New Horizons on Hegel’s Philosophy of Right” (São Bernardo do Campo, 31 October-1 November 2019)

We gladly announce that a Call for Papers has been opened for the Second Conference on Classical German Philosophy of UFABC that will be held at Universidade Federal do ABC, São Bernardo do Campo (Brazil), on 31 October and 1 November 2019. The topic of the conference will be Thought and Freedom. New Horizons on Hegel’s Philosophy of Right.

Deadline: October 18th, 2019.

Description of the event:

Supported by the post-graduate program in Philosophy of the Universidade Federal do ABC, the international congress Thought and Freedom. New Horizons of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right aims to promote a discussion on classical and contemporary topics related to Hegel’s Philosophy of Right. The conference will also host the book launch of the new Portuguese translation of the book Das Denken der Freiheit. Hegels Grundlinien der Philosophie des Rechts by Klaus Vieweg (Friedrich Schiller Universität Jena).

Call for Papers

Guidelines for submission:

  1. We accept submissions by post-graduate students and researchers currently affiliated with some post-graduate program of Brazilian or foreign universities, or by students with master and doctoral degree, regardless of their affiliation.
  2. The text (PDF or .doc format, Times New Roman 12 and 1,5 line spacing) must include the name of the author, her institutional affiliation, the title of the talk and a text of no more than 500 words.
  3. The authors of the accepted papers will present a 20 minutes talk (followed by 10 minutes for the discussion) according to the program of the event.

The evaluation of the submissions will be made by the organizing committee.
