Conference: “Between Theology and the Political” (Manchester, March 26-28, 2015)

We are pleased to announce the international conference Between Theology and the Political, organised by the Lincoln Theological Institute and the Department of Religions and Theology at the University of Manchester, running between Thursday the 26th and Saturday the 28th of March 2015.

The conference aims to consider the theo-political theory  in the context of its relationship to praxis. In the last thirty years civil society has assumed a significant place in political rhetoric, theory, and praxis. Therefore, this three-day conference will examine the practices of civil society through three theological lenses; the work of Hegel (Day 1), theological reflections on exclusion (Day 2) and the engagement between faith and social activism (day 3).

Main speakers: Thom Brooks, Andrew Shanks, Friedrike Schick, Anna Rowlands, Joerg Rieger, Jane Wills, Stephen Timms, Adrian Pabst, Sophie Stephens.
