THE PHILOSOPHY OF PHILOSOPHY
KANT AND HEGEL ON THE SCIENTIFIC NATURE OF PHILOSOPHY

Friday, October 4, 2019 from 15.50 h
Room 225V, Faculty of Arts (main building).

Luca Illetterati
(Università degli Studi di Padova)

Abstract
In this contribution, I will focus on Kant’s and Hegel’s “philosophy of philosophy” in order to show in which sense, according to Kant and Hegel, philosophy is science and at the same time does not constitute a particular scientific discipline. Starting from the question of the scientific nature of philosophy, I will show how the specific relationship between philosophical science and other kinds of sciences is embedded in the horizon of Kantian and Hegelian frameworks.
