International Conference: “Law and Morality in Kant”
July 9th to 11th 2020
University of Goettingen

From 9-11 July 2020 the international conference “Law and Morality in Kant” will take place at the University of Goettingen. The aim of the conference is to address the normative foundations of Kant’s Legal Philosophy and their relationship to Kant’s overall moral philosophy and its foundation. The conference will bring together established and novel positions regarding this topic, exploring and critically reflecting on the strength and potential of the various interpretative accounts.
Besides this, the conference wants to reach out and to introduce fresh approaches to Kant’s stand on law and morality. Therefore, we invite researchers working on these topics to give commentaries on the papers presented at the conference. Researchers interested in giving a comment are asked to submit a short application by April 1st 2020 to law-and-morality@uni-goettingen.de.
Your application should
- specify which talk(s) you would be interested to give a comment on
- briefly highlight your research interests and how they relate to the conference
- include a short academic CV
Applications by PhD students and postdocs are particularly welcome. We intend to provide (at least partial) funding.
