CFA: “Life in the Spotlight: The Philosophy of Nature around 1800 in the Context of Biocentric Debates in Environmental Ethics” (Kiel, 20-22 April 2023)

We are glad to give notice of the Call for Abstracts Life in the Spotlight: The Philosophy of Nature around 1800 in the Context of Biocentric Debates in Environmental Ethics. The event will take place on April 20th-22nd, 2023, at the University of Kiel.

The theme of this conference picks up on the question of life and its meaning for human beings and the environment, in the contexts of modern biocentric debates about contemporary environmental ethics and the concept of life around 1800, with emphasis on the philosophy of nature. Researchers in the field of philosophy, but also from related disciplines in the arts, are cordially invited to apply.

Application documents must include: an abstract (a maximum of 400 words with no indication of authorship) and a separate document providing brief information on the applicant’s academic background (a maximum of one page).

Deadline for submission is July 3rd, 2022, email to leben.kiel2023@gmail.com.
